I loved that reading of Only Child and I laughed so hard listening to it. Although I did not grow up in an expansive boarding house full of miscellaneous persons, I am an only child and the humor really spoke to me.
I recently relistened to Only Child, and I had forgotten how hilarious it was. I can't 100% relate, as I am an anxious overachiever firstborn. But holy cow can you read lines. I mean, you wrote them, but still.
I know I saw the first episode of Space: 1999 and probably more but remember little. My husband, however, was a regular viewer and agrees about the hook up culture of the Moonbase inhabitants. Just upon once again hearing her name, he declares that Maya "was hot!" He points out '70's mustaches were rife, claiming that anyone not wearing one in the photos just did not have theirs on for the picture. He also points out, respectfully, that there was an episode where they had news of the disasters inflicted on the earth by the unceremonious departure of the moon.
The news mention of the effects of the moon leaving earth’s orbit is in the pilot. It’s the last transmission the Moonbasers receive before they drift off into nothingness
I LOVED the pilot. So funny and relatable. I, too, am part of the [super smart], afraid of conflict, narcissist club and lived in a huge house (in Wayland, MA) with my parents and a divorcee and her three kids. We always had someone renting a room. ❤️
I was wondering when we would get the demonic content. Thanks for the continued recommendations, starting Middlemarch today while waiting at mg daughter’s field hockey practice.

Loved the Only Child read-through. Many laugh-out-loud moments! Would make a wonderful show.

If you're inclined, Juliet Stevenson's reading of it for the audio book is amazing. I've just started listening to it on this road trip.
